From 2004/2005 school year PESA Ateliér Médea

In 2004/2005 we received accreditation of the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic, and thus we became a private elementary school of art (PESA).

What is Ateliér Médea?

The project Ateliér Médea, a Private School of Fine Art started in September 2000 on the basis of positive experience with artists - pedagogues who have been devoted to children and students with great love and enthusiasm.

It is a type of private elementary school of art specialised in fine art, known before as Public School of Art. This form of education has a long tradition in the city of Nitra and it is very popular among children and parents.

The aim is to spend free time wisely - by rehearsing a wide range of art techniques and their use in individual production, from the preliminary to advanced level.

Students of all ages can practise their knowledge not only during lessons but also at home, school, and in the local community projects. This practical side of production is a part of theri self-reflectin and self-evaluation in relation to society, which is crucial for the self-development of individual´s character. Everyone of tthem has a possibility to develop craft skills but also one´s own intellectual abilities. Furthermore, group work allows seeing many original solutins of a creative problem, which is a way to sensibility and one´s own creative thinking.

The midterm production is presented by the selection of the best works at a public exhibition. Fans of amateur art, parents, relatives, friends, and passers-by are confronted with creative production which brings joy, full development of personality, and stimuli for new ideas. Even a short stop may rouse a huge effect.

There have been the following exhibitions: "Creation", "Gate", "Journey", "Colorful World", "Wings", "6", "By stairs", "Eight"

Now at the beginning of 2006/2007 school year, we are full of expectations for what it will bring. I wish all children, students, parents, and grown-ups that it was at least as successful as the previous ones.
